Meet the staff of Aster Technology Institute


Cynthia Holliday, RN, NLP, CLNC: Director:

Mrs.. Holiday is responsible for the Nursing Assistant Program of the (CNA ) program for Aster Technology Institute. Cynthia has been conducting the “Quick Start, a state certified nursing assistant program (CNA) for over eight years. Together, with her partner Mrs.. Simmons, they bring broad clinical and training experience to the CNA program. Since the mid nineties, they have been involved in the implementation of health care in nursing homes, private homes, Adult family homes, Assisted Living/Boarding Homes, Skilled Nursing facilities, and other community health care settings. Their Department of Health approved training program is so unique and quality oriented, their program is in high demand. Their association with ATI to reach more of the community in the area can only benefit the society at large.


De’Sandra Simmons, RN
Instructor, CNA Program

DeSandra Simmons is the lead instructor for the CNA program at Aster Technology Institute. DeSandra brings years of training experience in the CNA programs. Along with her partner , Cynthia Holiday RN, she is a partner in the "Quick Start" Certified nursing Assistant Program. She is calm and liked by her students. DeSandra has been conducting CNA training for many years in Adult homers, Assisted Living, Boarding homes, skilled nursing facilities and other community health care settings. her involvement with ATI will surely benefit for those that plan to enter the nursing field.

Vikki Wilkerson:
Instructor in Phlebotomy and Medical Billing

Vikki has been a registered nurse since 1982. She received advanced critical care training from UCLA in 1983.and began an intensive care internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Long Beach, CA. Worked as agency critical nurse in the San Diego area. She moved to the Seattle area and began professional reimbursement .For seven years; she worked in the emergency medicine area as documentation and coding consultant for Puget Sound physicians. As a phlebotomy and Medical Billing instructor, she is knowledgeable and professional. She is well liked by her students and cares well about the success of her students.



Roger Lander, A+, Network+, MCP
Instructor and IT Director
Roger enjoys sharing knowledge and enhancing individuals’ experiences with computers. His commitment to professionalism and dedication to the success of each student is his biggest asset. Technically, he is responsible for setting up all workstations/servers, installing NT, Office 95 through 2000, windows 95/98, Windows BackOffice products and third party software. He teaches courses in A+, Network+, Windows 2000, Data Recovery and Computer Forensics as well as PC applications. He has served as a solution developer, computer hardware technician, and configured networks. Roger is a “team player” and is well liked by his students.

Berhane Zerom, MS, RRT
CEO and Owner
Born in Asmara, Eritrea, on the northeast coast of Africa, Berhane Zerom graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Stillman College and a M.S. in Physiology from Southern University. Mr. Zerom did post-graduate work at both Louisiana State University and Stanford University. He has worked at the University of Washington Medical Center for 18 years as a neonatal clinician and lectured at Tacoma Community College for 9 years. He co-authored the medical text Neonatal Intensive Care, and published numerous scientific articles. In addition to writing and instruction, he served as vice president of the American College of Professional Education.
In 2000, Mr. Zerom founded Aster Technology Institute (ATI). Bringing together employers in the fields of health care and IT, he listened to industry needs and crafted an organization capable of increasing training capacity. Looking ahead, Mr. Zerom sees adapting and meeting training needs for individuals and businesses for years to come.
